Christ's Body, Christ's Community
Community as the central substance of the Body of Christ must be so for a reason. Over the past month I've bounced around many different cities including Akron, Chicago, Canton and Columbus. I've been to a different church every Sunday since June. I've spent time with many great people and I have been able to connect with many old friends, but not too often do I spend time with the same person twice. Back to the Books
I am now less than two months away from my departure date! Provided that my support team is completed in full and my basic understanding of the language is in place I will be heading out October 1. So what do my days look like until then? Part of my days are spent continuing to meet with individuals as I work towards completing my monthly and one-time-gifts support teams. Training and Playing
This past week has been one full of training at our organization's base location. It has been exciting as I have spent time with the teammates I met a few months ago at support raising training. I have also met other teammates who already live in the city I am headed to, but are here at training for various reasons. The past week has been full. I feel like a student again as I sit in class each day and learn from different instructors. At this rate my goal for life long learning doesn't seem too hard to come by. Talking Too Much
As the summer has gone on the length of my appointments with support team members has seemed to be longer and longer. This was especially evident this past week. And the reason they are getting longer and longer? ... I just won't stop talking! Ironically after the events that occured last week my fire and passion to go and serve seems to have intensified.
