Community as the central substance of the Body of Christ must be so for a reason.
Over the past month I've bounced around many different cities including Akron, Chicago, Canton and Columbus. I've been to a different church every Sunday since June. I've spent time with many great people and I have been able to connect with many old friends, but not too often do I spend time with the same person twice.
In the midst of so many great interactions I began to feel scattered and I was struggling to find a sense of centeredness.
However, one day of reconnecting with my church family made all the difference.
It was a day where I did not have many scheduled meetings, but somehow I had the opportunity to meet with more people and families than I normally ever am able to in a day. As I met with church pastors, new church family members and close church family friends I realized just how much my church family has changed my life over the past two years.
Since joining this church family I have felt nothing but loved, invested in and empowered.
Learning to walk in obedience to the Lord, desiring to disciple within the church and expecting disciplemakers to go make disciples in their communities is what this church family is all about.
After so many days and weeks apart, reuniting for one day reminded me just how special the Body of Christ is. Jesus used this day to remind me how He works in each of our hearts to ignite a movement so that as one Body He may use us to grow His Kingdom.
I could not imagine my life apart from these people. I am going to miss them dearly while away, but am eager to enable God to use me to extend LoveCanton's fight for the highest good of others to the Middle East and beyond.
