This past week has been one full of training at our organization's base location. It has been exciting as I have spent time with the teammates I met a few months ago at support raising training. I have also met other teammates who already live in the city I am headed to, but are here at training for various reasons.
The past week has been full. I feel like a student again as I sit in class each day and learn from different instructors. At this rate my goal for life long learning doesn't seem too hard to come by. The material has been great and the opportunity to be here in this community makes me even more excited for what is ahead.
While our days are full of classroom time, our evenings have been full of hang out time. From visiting local resturants to spending our entire Saturday hitting up all of the tourist attractions the windy city has to offer our play time is being well spent as we get to know each other better.
At the tail end of last week we did get word as to how our teammates out on the field are doing in the midst of recent events. The team is safe and is in a stage of waiting as they wait to see how the situation plays out. As we continue to train our hope is still to join our teammates in the next few months, Lord willing.
With that being said, please pray for the city in the midst of turmoil. Pray for the followers of Jesus there, that they may be protected. Pray for those with hardened hearts, that they may be softened. Pray for those with soft hearts, that they may come to know their Savior. Pray for God's redeemption to take hold of the city, that we may see a changed place where Truth of Him is abundant!
