When I am weak, he is strong
The Lord is faithful, and he is deeply at work. Looking back on this past month, it was filled with genuine struggles and clear victories, all of which kept leading me back to a single call: learning to depend entirely on him in my weakness. August was a quiet month with most of the team away, but having lots of work to dive into was such a clear provision from the Lord. I was able to wrap up editing a 31-episode devotional series, as well as four podcast episodes centered on abuse. Getting to spend that time stewarding work that shares important biblical truths, especially around hard, heavy… Read more
This Month in...Switzerland!
Hey everyone, welcome to another update from Spain! This month of July has been really a huge blessing and been an incredible learning experience for me! Earlier this month, I went to a conference in Switzerland! I spent a week there with all of my organization's missionaries from around Europe, and it was such an amazing and incredible time. For me, it was a time that I would describe as restful more than anything, where I was able to rest from regular work, and just spend time worshiping the Lord. It was also just incredibly encouraging to be able to hear the stories of God's… Read more
We Love Because Be First Loved Us
When team dynamics got messy or challenging this month, it was really special to see how the Lord used that to reveal more about me and my relationship with Him than anything else. It was cool because I felt like He began to reveal to me how only once I really begin to understand and see the beauty of the gospel, how Jesus came into our messiness. It's only when I truly understand that and receive His love and grace, that I'm able to extend that to others. It was also really cool to be able to get a fresh breath of encouragement from my local community and from some interns that have come… Read more
Discerning God’s Will: Choosing Freedom over Fear
Dear Potential Goer, If you’re reading this, you’re likely considering the possibility of serving overseas in missions. But you may be wondering if this is what God is calling you to do. You want to make the “right decision”. It might be helpful to know that just a few months ago, I was in the same spot. Before December, I had never heard of GoCorps. My plan after I graduated from college was to go directly to grad school for occupational therapy. A large part of my senior year of college was spent applying to different programs and going through the interview processes. Due to the… Read more
Celebrating the Lord's Goodness
Hey everyone, and welcome to another update from Spain. I'm really excited to be able to share with you all of the different things that the Lord blessed me with being able to experience this past month. One of the really exciting things this past month that I was able to be a part of was continuing to grow and develop the relationships that I have with my local church community. We were able to go on a hike together, and it was so much fun to be able to just continue to get to know people and build up those relationships the Lord's given me here. It's been really encouraging to feel more and… Read more
Growing in Community
Hey everyone, and welcome to another update from Spain! I'm really excited to be able to share with everyone, all that's been going on in this past month. The Lord's been really faithful and he's been allowing me to be able to get more connected with my local church. More and more, I've been able to go to different people's homes, get invited to birthday parties, be a part of the young adults group, and it's been really amazing to be able to cultivate that community here. And as I reflect with gratitude on my local community, I'm reminded of the community that is supporting me back home. What… Read moreSeptember & October in Ecuador
Two months full of seeing God work through relationships! School Supply Distribution For the whole month of September we hosted our annual school supply distribution event. In Ecuador (as in many parts of the world), too many children are forced to drop out of school due to lack of resources. This unfinished education limits job opportunities later in life and continues the cycle of poverty. Thanks to the partnership between Education Equals Hope and End Slavery Ecuador, we were able to help 100 women with the supplies they or their children needed to start the school year with confidence and… Read more
Back to Work
Hey everyone, and welcome to another update from Spain. This month has been busy as work has gotten back into the full swing of things, and we've been having lots of different meetings as a team to plan for the next project that we're gonna be working on. It will be a year long series going through the book of acts from the perspective of planting churches in a hostile environment. This month we were able to do a practice shoot to test out exactly how we wanted to film it. And thanks to that practice we were able to learn how we need to work together, how we need to communicate better,… Read more
