My Letter to Future Goers

Featured story By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Latin America

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance something in you is already stirring, but maybe you feel hesitant, nervous, or just not fully convinced. I was there once too. I never planned to live or serve overseas, but during my senior year of college, God started to move the pieces into place. Still, I wasn't sure, it certainly wasn't the plan I had in mind. However, I decided to pray a simple prayer: God, not my will but yours; as long as the door stays open, I’ll walk through it. I wasn’t committing to the outcome, just to obedience in the next step. Those steps moved faster than I… Read more >>

A Very Merry Christmas & a Happy (but crazy) New Year

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Latin America

Amadas’ Christmas Parties December began with the preparation for and hosting of our annual Christmas parties—by far the largest of the events we hold each year. Over the course of several hours, we had the joy of connecting with 285 women! After registering, each woman was given intentional, one-on-one time with a member of our team. During this time, we listened to them, shared the Christmas story (several hearing it for the very first time), received prayer requests, and prayed with them on the spot. The women were also invited to participate in a simple craft, creating space to slow down… Read more >>

"Congrats, you're pregnant"

Heartbreaks and Immense Joy as the Holidays Approach Congrats, You’re Pregnant! As our Christmas parties approach and the end of the year draws near, we had our final outreach of 2024 this past Wednesday. It was a gift to sit with each of our women one more time before the year closes and hear how they are doing. During one of these conversations, Charlotte*—whom some of you may remember as “Amada C”—shared how her coworker Melanie* discovered she was pregnant. Pregnancy is, sadly, not uncommon in their line of work. What shocked everyone in this case, however, was that Melanie found out when… Read more >>

September & October in Ecuador

Two months full of seeing God work through relationships! School Supply Distribution For the whole month of September we hosted our annual school supply distribution event. In Ecuador (as in many parts of the world), too many children are forced to drop out of school due to lack of resources. This unfinished education limits job opportunities later in life and continues the cycle of poverty. Thanks to the partnership between Education Equals Hope and End Slavery Ecuador, we were able to help 100 women with the supplies they or their children needed to start the school year with confidence and… Read more >>

August Breakthroughs

August Breakthroughs It’s been a long month and this is a long newsletter, but it’s worth the read! I hope you find time to sit down and catch up on what the Lord is doing here in Quito, Ecuador!   Take Two: Cuicocha Edition In November of last year, my best friend and coworker, Anastasia, and I attempted to hike Cuicocha. Key word: attempted. The trail is a 12 km (about 7.5 mile) loop around a crater lake. We hiked for about two hours and only made it to kilometer marker three before a storm rolled in. Honestly, I was relieved—it felt like an excuse to stop, because at that point I… Read more >>
