As July Comes to a Close

The month of July has been a blur. I thank God that I am almost fully recovered from my knee surgery and can now tackle stairs again with confidence! In the past month I surprised both doctors and my physical therapist going from way behind schedule in my recovery to doing very well. I also thank God that I was able to spend over a week in lower state Michigan raising support for my trip.  So many wonderful people opened their homes to me and I was very lucky and blessed to meet with old friends from college, work, and my trip to China. It has been almost three weeks since Go Week and life has been a whirl! I was honored to be a bridesmaid at a close friend’s wedding on May 24th and spent Memorial Day at another friend’s home before returning to my apartment in Houghton.  I then began my support raising campaign meeting with families from my church and sending out more life update letters.  At the end of the week my lease ended and I moved in with a good friend, which has been a big blessing as I had knee surgery 3 days later and she has taken care of me so well through it all.  Although I was supposed to be… Read more >>
