As July Comes to a Close
The month of July has been a blur. I thank God that I am almost fully recovered from my knee surgery and can now tackle stairs again with confidence! In the past month I surprised both doctors and my physical therapist going from way behind schedule in my recovery to doing very well. I also thank God that I was able to spend over a week in lower state Michigan raising support for my trip. So the last couple weeks have been challenging for me. I tend to be a bit of a “go getter” liking the feeling of accomplishing things, solving problems and helping people. I also am normally very active and spend as much time outside and on my feet as possible. It has been almost three weeks since Go Week and life has been a whirl! I was honored to be a bridesmaid at a close friend’s wedding on May 24th and spent Memorial Day at another friend’s home before returning to my apartment in Houghton. I then began my support raising campaign meeting with families from my church and sending out more life update letters. At the end of the week my lease ended and I moved in with a good friend, which has been a big blessing as I had knee surgery 3 days later and she has taken care of me so well through it all.
