As July Comes to a Close

Posted on Tuesday, July 29, 2014

The month of July has been a blur. I thank God that I am almost fully recovered from my knee surgery and can now tackle stairs again with confidence! In the past month I surprised both doctors and my physical therapist going from way behind schedule in my recovery to doing very well.

I also thank God that I was able to spend over a week in lower state Michigan raising support for my trip.  So many wonderful people opened their homes to me and I was very lucky and blessed to meet with old friends from college, work, and my trip to China. People continue to surprise me with their generosity, support and encouragement.  One family not only surprised me by their generosity in giving, but has begun to advocate for me challenging friends and family to give as well!  After my week downstate I am over halfway funded which is a great feeling, not because of what I have accomplished, but because of how many people have made the sacrifice to invest in God’s work in Hungary.

I have really enjoyed my time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this summer and will miss it dearly as this Friday I am moving back to my hometown of Duluth, MN. I look forward to time spent with family there and also feel like it brings me one step closer to my big move to Hungary this fall!  My pre-field training is also coming up quickly in mid August and I am really looking forward to reuniting with the friends I made at GoWeek back in May. So life continues to be full of surprises with each day different than the one before.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and support in this season.
