Starting to feel like Fall

By on Track: Teaching Region: Europe

The last couple of weeks have been a bit crazy, but really wonderful and I feel like I am finally starting to build some ideas and context for what ministry will look like here in Hungary. My team spent five days a couple weeks ago at a conference in Bled, Solvenia.  The area was so beautiful and relaxing, but the best part of being there was meeting other people who live and serve all over Europe and hearing about their ministries.  The conference was structured around a lot of discussion and although I felt like I didn’t have a lot to contribute yet, it was good to listen to the… Read more >>

Life in Hungary

By on Track: Teaching Region: Europe

This week I celebrated spending three weeks in Hungary.  It seems as if I have been here so much longer than that, so it is a good reminder to myself that I am doing a lot and to not take things too fast. I love Hungary so far and even feel that I am adjusting to city life well. I do miss home and my family and friends, but try to treat everyday as an adventure and a blessing.  I am now confident in taking the metro by myself around the city and am learning the bus and tram systems.  I want to create good habits for myself, so have been thinking about goals and things I really… Read more >>

Arrival in Budapest

By on Track: Teaching Region: Europe

So last week was the big move!  I left home Tuesday morning and drove to Minneapolis.  Flew from there to Chicago and from Chicago to Warsaw, Poland.  I went through customs in Poland and after a couple hour layover finished my journey to Hungary!  The trip was exhausting and a little stressful but fun. I spent the entirety of my last flight talking with a man from Poland.  He had guessed I was Polish at first, but after my blank stares and a weak hello (it was about 3am in Minnesota by then) he started talking to me in English.  I told him it was my first time… Read more >>

Pre-Field Training

By on Track: Teaching Region: Europe

So this past week was ReachGlobal’s pre-field training.  I got to spend a week in Minneapolis with 19 amazing people headed to 10 different countries to be God’s hands and feet.  We learned a lot about teamwork, conflict skills and culture shock, but my favorite part of the week was just hearing their testimonies; how God has called them and what they have seen Him doing in their lives.  I am so excited to see how God continues to use each one of us to bring glory to His name around the world.  My other exciting news for the week is that I bought my ticket to Hungary (yes… Read more >>

My Horse's New Home

By on Track: Teaching Region: Europe

Just a quick life update today and some answered prayers!  I successfully moved to Duluth now and have been able to spend a little more time and share meals with my family, which has been good.  I also found a home for my horse, which was a huge answered prayer.  I am attaching a picture of her with her new family.  She is so funny.  There are 3 new horses for her to meet and socialize with and instead she is in love with the goat! Another real blessing was being able to spend 3 days in the BWCA (a large canoeing wilderness area in northern Minnesota) this past week.… Read more >>
