My Letter to Future Goers

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

For the past two years I have had the privilege of being on a big team here in Berlin. This means that we have now had two more generations of Goers join the team since I have landed. (And more are coming!) It is amazing to be reminded of where I once was- fresh in Berlin! These new team members have also helped me see how I have grown in the past two years as they remind me of some of the joys and struggles of overseas work. Recently one of my co-workers and I were talking about motivation in our generation- why is it sometimes difficult to get us motivated and committed?  It reminded… Read more >>

Just Be

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

A couple of years ago I was sitting in a church service of sorts and someone was talking about being still before God and releasing our fears and thoughts to Him. It was like a spontaneous group confession time. (between us and the Lord)  After that time, I felt like the Lord was telling me, "I love you the way you are, just be." It was such a relief to know that I could "just be" and the Lord loves me regardless.  I wrote a song called "Just Be" before coming to Berlin and have never played it here. Until last night. I decided to play it at the weekly open stage that I host. I was… Read more >>

A Deeper Meaning

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

About every month I meet with a supervisor from the Reach Global team. Recently I have had the privilege of being supervised by one of the owners of the cafe that I work in. This is great because he sees more of the hands on work that is done, and can explain the behind the scene stuff that I don't know about. Yesterday we had our meeting. And one of the things that really stuck with me was the challenge too look for a deeper meaning within the tasks that I do. I know that for me and my personality type, it would be easy to only see the tasks that I am doing, and somehow think my time is full… Read more >>

2016 Theme

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

This past year I was able to meet a family that had moved to Berlin for work. I am enjoying getting to know them, sharing in the common struggles of cross cultural living, and getting to explore hole in the wall restaurants! One of the things that they have inspired me to do is select a theme verse for the year. I have never done this, but I also felt like it was something that God was pulling me to- to have a piece of scripture that I could hold on to whenever I need to be reminded of God's faithfulness and promises.  I thought that I had just stumbled upon reading this- but I know that… Read more >>

Loving Your Enemies

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

Something that I have become aware of recently is that I am not loving my enemies. Is this because I have been avoiding them? Or pretending I do not have any?  This topic has become a theme because of several events in my life that have taken place recently. I lost my wallet- (which was my fault and that brings up a whole other topic...) and my phone was stolen. Right in front of me.  This man took advantage of my kindness to help him with directions and in turn stole my phone. And before I realized what happened (which only took 10 seconds) he turned around and looked at me. When… Read more >>
