The Wonderful World of Journaling

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

Journals. Brand new journals have such mystery and allure. They draw me in to a place of possibilities. Old Journals tell stories of where they have been. They are history keepers and secret keepers.  My Journal: a little lonely in the month of December. I was able to sit down and write for a good while a couple days ago and thought to myself, "Wow, this is so good. Why don't I do this more?" It was like I was able to understand the person I was being and the person I was becoming. I was able to tell God in writing how things really were going for me. I was able to be myself.  I am… Read more >>

Normal

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

Sometimes it is hard to think about all the things that God is doing. This can happen for several reasons. The reasons probably stem from this root- selfishness. Being too busy- selfish. Inward focus- potentially selfish. Distractions- self inflicted selfishness. But wait, is all selfishness self inflicted? Hmmmmmm.  I am sick and therefore very prone to the selfishness persuasion. Each time I cough or twinge of ear pain I think, “Why? Why am I not feeling better already? Me me me me me! God, don’t you want me to get better? I mean, I have missed out on two days of language learning.… Read more >>

The Rest

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

The following is an exerpt from a journal entry that I wrote a couple of days ago. Enjoy. "I was on the U5 coming back to the flat and I saw this kid, 8th grade or so, wearing this backpack with some fairy characters on it. So, like a proper German, I was staring at the pack. Then I see the side of the pack and it says "Living in the rest." I thought that was rather profund for a backpack.  Then I realized that it actually said, "Living in the Forest." The F and and O were covered up by a butterfly.  But I am pretty sure that I saw what I was supposed to see. It made me think about… Read more >>

The Ways of Affirmation

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

One of the sweet things about in living in community is freedom to speak affirmation into each other's lives. Through affirmation we are able to understand ourselves better, and to better understand and appreciate the way that God made us.  But what is sweeter than that? Affirmation from the word of God.  I experienced both of those things yesterday. Affirmation within community: I had a difficult conversation with someone because of something that I said that was hurtful. Sometimes choose to say things that  do not speak life into people. It is a journey that the Lord has… Read more >>

Skills to Build the Tabernacle

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

I am going through 100 days of devotions in the book "The God Ask" and Day 3 has really blessed me today. The passage is Exodus 25 and 35:21. I ended up reading 25-35 and I am very thankful.  Here is what is going on: God is giving Moses the details of what to build for the Tabernacle. He is giving him the specific demintions of the mery seat, the ark of the covenant, the table for the bread of presence and the lampstand. (and more!) After these instructions, he calls out two guys, Bezalel and Oholiab, and says this about them: To Bezalel: "he has filled him with divine spirit, with… Read more >>
