A couple of years ago I was sitting in a church service of sorts and someone was talking about being still before God and releasing our fears and thoughts to Him. It was like a spontaneous group confession time. (between us and the Lord)
After that time, I felt like the Lord was telling me, "I love you the way you are, just be." It was such a relief to know that I could "just be" and the Lord loves me regardless.
I wrote a song called "Just Be" before coming to Berlin and have never played it here. Until last night. I decided to play it at the weekly open stage that I host. I was nervous because it is a short and quiet song- maybe they wouldn't like it? Maybe I would mess up... but i needed to play it.
Here are the lyrics:
You don't have to do anything for me to love you, just be, just be. (2x)
Just be, just be, just be just be.
(2x)
So simple.
After the evening, I talked to my friend M about it. She told me that she felt something really special during the song. She felt like I was singing it from a genuine place, and it really touched her. It was a bit dim in the room, but I had the feeling that if she kept talking about it, she would cry. I love M so much! She is an amazing musician and we are becoming good friends.
Have a listen to the song yourself. https://soundcloud.com/kelseybrae/just-be
Just Be- and let God love you.
