The New Normal
DONE WITH LANGUAGE! I am excited to announce that I am officially done with the language portion of my time here! I have felt very encouraged and empowered by how much I’ve learned and how much I am now able to communicate. In order to maintain my current communication level, I will continue to meet with Turkish friends and practice conversations. Theology of Suffering
I entered the room for the first time, fully aware that the women here have experienced so much more in life than I could even imagine. Their faces tell stories. One woman’s head hung low as her children played. I sat next to the woman who began to pour her heart out to me. She had moved to this country for a reprieve. She had recently married and was separated from her father and mother who still live in her home country. This month has been significantly busier than the summer months. Other workers have returned to start programs up again, meanwhile I’m still in the full swing of language learning. In my language responsibilities, the Lord has been providing new perspective and energy. A couple weeks ago I was sitting at church listening to the service.
