He's at Work, and I'm Ready to Go!

It’s almost here! The time has almost come! In the words of my favorite Veggie Tales song: “It’s time? It’s time? Did he just say it’s time?” (Josh and the Great Wall for those who might be Veggie Tale challenged).  Father-willing, I will be leaving this Saturday. I will be saying goodbye to my family tomorrow, and start off on my adventure! These past couple days with my family have been bittersweet as I will miss them terribly, but I am excited to start this adventure. It’s also interesting that it hasn’t yet sunk in. It still feels like a far ways off. Even though my bags are packed… Read more >>

The Waiting Game

By on Track: STEM Region: Asia - Central

A month to go. God has really been working on my patience recently. With possible health problems cropping up, visa application problems, and waiting on the last few financial partners signing up, it’s been a stressful month. Sometimes, I met the challenges that were set in front of me with a prayerful attitude and faith and trust in God, and sometimes, I didn’t. My parents left for a 15 day vacation and during that time, I realized how much I was going to miss them. I love my parents. Actually, in high school, I realized I loved them more than God. The last few years have seen me trying to figure out the balance of honoring my parents, but loving God more. I have always loved new lands, cultures, languages and have always wanted to live/work overseas, but I never thought that I would be able to do it. I always thought it was an… Read more >>

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” Lamentations 3: 22-23. Thank goodness for that! As it nears the end of the official fundraising period, I am filled with so many thoughts and emotions form the past 12 weeks. I have felt elation, sadness, joy, fear, peace, anger, amazement… The list goes on and on. Some weeks I worked hard and diligently for hours at a time. Other weeks, I lounged around doing nothing. I liken the ups and downs of this process to a wheel, I am sometimes on top and sometimes… Read more >>

Sunrise

You know that feeling that you get when you just don’t want to do anything? It is this heaviness that presses down on you and consumes your will to live and move. If feels like you are trapped in a tub of jello in which there is no escape. Well, I’ve been feeling like that for the past three weeks. And this is not good because I only have four weeks left of fundraising time. The will to go on has left me, and all I feel is this oppressiveness that hinders my every movement. I try to get out, I do, and yet every time I get sucked back into the dark hole of nothingness. Why is it so hard? Why… Read more >>
