I honestly don't know where to start with this blog! Haha I've been back in the States for a few months now, and it still feels like I'm just here on vacation and will be heading back to Mexico at any moment. It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog. I’m not actually very good at this. I usually have at least three topics running around in my head at any given time, but actually putting them on paper (or the computer) is extremely difficult for me.

“Alarma Sismica”
A single phrase has never caused so much terror before in my life. Of course, the first time I heard it, I had no idea what was going. On September 7, around midnight I was talking with my host cousin when I heard a strange sound outside the window. I asked Mena what it was. We were silent for a moment before she told me it was the “alarma sismica”. I racked my Spanish brain to figure out what that meant. Last month was my one year anniversary in Mexico, and I can definitely tell because I am 5 times as busy now as I was at this time last year. I'm teaching more classes. I'm planning on running two different clubs in the school, and I've been helping my host family out with all of their things. Life is busy busy busy here. It can be overwhelming, but I'm loving it. I want to start off by saying that I love what I do. I love living in Mexico. I love my host family. I love being able to teach the most amazing group of young people that I have ever met. But, that does not at all mean that being a missionary is easy. There have been numerous times that I have wanted to call it quits and go home for good. There have been times where I have thought that my students would be better off without me as their teacher. There are days when I question why God brought my here at all.
