A crazed looking rogue draws his sword. Since when did he have a… the question dies as his blade lashes out. A servant screams. An ear falls to the ground. Something is very wrong. A lone man holds trembling soldiers at bay. Is that triumph in his eyes? Or, is it terror? Whatever emotion, it is replaced by shock and grief as he hears a sharp voice that calls him to stand down. We make our arrest, deposit the prisoner and try to forget the dread that consumed us at the confirmation of our target.

Growing up, I used to dream that I would play soccer for Brazil. They were the best. And I wanted to be the best and play for the best. I didn’t think about how I would get there. It was just a dream.

I’m frantic. Juiced up on adrenaline. There’s no thoughts, just a one track determination.
We’re tied and we need to win this game. If we don’t, we’ll miss playoffs for the second year in a row. Win. That’s all that matters to me as I’m scanning the field, trying to get organized on defense.

My church friends bring me into Terminal 21, a mall next to Benchakitti park in Bangkok, Thailand. We just finished our first? Maybe, second ever run club and it’s time for dinner. As we enter the mall, I’m blown away by the magnificence of the place. I won’t try to describe it, Thai malls rock.
