Go!

Posted on Friday, September 12, 2025

My church friends bring me into Terminal 21, a mall next to Benchakitti park in Bangkok, Thailand. We just finished our first? Maybe, second ever run club and it’s time for dinner. As we enter the mall, I’m blown away by the magnificence of the place. I won’t try to describe it, Thai malls rock.

Anyways, dripping in sweat from our run, we make our way over to the food court and grab some grub. I don’t know what meal I ended up choosing, but I do remember a feeling of mild concern as I sit down and remember that this meal gave me the runs a couple months back. Before I get the chance to contemplate my life choices, J starts making fun of my holey shoes and I’m drawn into conversations with the incredible community God has given me in Thailand.

Long after everyone has finished their meals and when our laughter begins to fade, I get ambushed. Someone asks me what I’m going to do with my life once I go home and finish my summer job. I have no clue. Another asks me what I want to do. I have no answer for that either. Then Marie tells me to apply for GoCorps. Kynsley and J agree. It’s time to ask God what he wants me to do. Where He wants me to Go. I crumble under the pressure of three of the people who have turned Thailand into a spiritual safe haven for me. "I’ll take a look."
