Starting with the Drought…
Ecuador (and all of South America) is going through the worst drought it has experienced in over 60 years. This has had many negative affects, including wildfires. In addition to many wildfires (which have affected air quality), we are having to ration water. Also, due to the majority of Ecuador’s electricity being generated in hydroelectric plants, we are experiencing electricity cuts. Jumping back into the Ministry
I landed back in Ecuador on August 8th and jumped right back into the ministry! It felt so good to have the time of resting in the States, and I returned feeling so energized and ready to come back! Since coming back, we have had two events to help the children of our Amadas (women in prostitution who we have made contact with and are working with in some way). In Ecuador, school typically starts sometime in August, so with the aid of Art Serve International/SmartBox and Education Equals Hope, we were able to provide school supplies to over 100 kids! Finishing Strong
The first two weeks of July were spent wrapping everything up and preparing to come home for two weeks! It was a wonderful (albeit slightly stressful) time. The other North American on our team left a week early, so I was on my own using Spanish in a business context. It was difficult, but it was another testament to how the Lord has blessed me in the process of language learning!

I’M COMING HOME
Not for long, but it’s still so exciting! I’ll be in the States from July 20 – August 7. I’ll be splitting these weeks between Greenville and Charleston, SC, and I would love to see as many of you as possible! I don’t have exact dates for when/where I’ll be yet, but if you reach out to me I’ll make sure to try to fit you in when I’m closest to you!

Getting Settled In
In May, I moved into my apartment and started my new job! It was probably the most change I’ve experienced in one month since moving to Ecuador in the first place. It was weird going from language school 5 days a week to starting my job. I still have language lessons on Fridays, but my weeks look very different now. In addition, I moved into my apartment! I really love it here. I live with one girl from the States and an Ecuadorian girl who is in college. It has been really fun to have my own space again.
