My Advice To A Future Goer

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

It all began with a simple meeting over coffee. I never thought much about it and honestly doubted that the Lord would send me. But it was when I simply put my yes forward, that God could direct me to where I am now.  For the past two years, I have lived in Bucharest, Romania. I have been working with international college students. My students come from all over the world. Many of them are from countries that I never knew about before. It has been a blessing to be able to work with them for the past two years.  Becoming a Goer has been one of the best decisions I have ever made.… Read more >>

Where Do I Find Peace?

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

You know that meme that has the little cartoon dog sitting drinking coffee saying, “Everything is fine,” in the midst of the house burning down? I know that I am not the only one who saw it, and I laughed at how relatable it seemed. Lately, there are times when I literally feel like that dog.  In our world, and specifically in our American culture, there is an emphasis on doing something on our own. I cannot count the number of times I have heard the phrase, “I am a capable individual and I don’t need help.” With this ingrained in our culture, no wonder we grew up thinking that we needed… Read more >>

What Season Are You In?

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

In a year, there are four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. I’m sure everyone has their favorite season (or even favorite parts of every season) and least favorites of those seasons as well. For me, I love winter but I do love it when spring comes with all of the flowers, even if that means my allergies are in full force. In college, my small group leader asked our group about our favorite season, and then she connected our favorite season to our lives. She said that our lives are broken up by different seasons. Sometimes they’re your favorite, and other times, you’re holding on for… Read more >>

Do The Scary Thing

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

When God calls us to follow Him it is not with the promise of a comfortable and easy life. It is the opposite. He promises that it will be difficult and scary. Sometimes, it is scary where He is calling you, but it is so rewarding when you walk into what He is calling you to do.  One of my intimidating encounters on the field has been the metro. I am not used to using a system like this and it is confusing enough without putting the process in another language. When my supervisor invited me to her house for a game/move night I wanted to go but immediately felt scared of this obstacle.… Read more >>

Next Stop Romania!

By on Track: Media - Communications Region: Europe

As a kid, did you ever play the game don’t step on a crack on the sidewalk? I don’t know about you, but for most of my life, I have continued to stare at the ground to ensure that I don’t fall or “step on a crack.” For most of my life, I have found comfort in knowing where my foot would land on the pathway. There is a sense of control that every human being desires. In my life, it was wanting to know what I would do next.  During my final semester of college, I thought about what I would do. I didn't know where to go. I knew three things, the first was I wanted to do something in… Read more >>
