When God calls us to follow Him it is not with the promise of a comfortable and easy life. It is the opposite. He promises that it will be difficult and scary. Sometimes, it is scary where He is calling you, but it is so rewarding when you walk into what He is calling you to do.
One of my intimidating encounters on the field has been the metro. I am not used to using a system like this and it is confusing enough without putting the process in another language. When my supervisor invited me to her house for a game/move night I wanted to go but immediately felt scared of this obstacle. After a lot of back-and-forth debating with myself, I decided to have the courage and go. I went by myself across town and I am so thankful. After I had this adventure the Lord continues daily to give me the strength to do courageous things even when it feels impossible.
Something that I would ask is, what “scary” thing is holding you back from jumping in with both feet? For me, it was the metro system. For others, it could be anything. Asking a stranger for directions, going by yourself for lunch, or whatever is standing in your way. But what if we lived in a world where everyone had the courage to try? Honestly, the only way that I was able to do it was because God was with me. So when those “scary” things occur, remember that with the Lord, anything is possible.
