I am not who I was. These years on the field have changed me forever. Going into this, I really had no idea what I was doing. I thought I came to be a tool of transformation for the people around me. I had no idea what was in store for me, or how I would be transformed myself. I would like to say that it's okay to be afraid about what might happen overseas. Relationships change. Family grows. New Wine
I've been in Central Asia for a bit over a week now, and I can still hardly belive I'm here. I'm so grateful. The cool weather here is a welcome difference from home, but while I may not miss the heat, I certainly miss the people. It's such a strange feeling to be both incredibly happy to be here, and yet missing who I've left in the US. The Lord is my Comforter and Confidante through it all. I didn’t realize it a few months ago, but this season during quarantine has been a gift from the Father for me. More and more I realize that God is asking for joyful surrender, and yet He gives me extra time withy family before I leave for such a long time. I’ve spent these last few months with my two beautiful baby nephews. Before COVID, I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to meet the youngest before I had to leave. How Deep The Father's Love For Us
Happy Valentine’s Day! I leave for two weeks of training in Chicago in two days. I look forward to learning more about cross-cultural ministry and how I can be more effective in my country. I am especially looking forward to reuniting with some of the Goers I met in training last September! It’s a good feeling to know you have friends all over the world.
