I am not who I was. These years on the field have changed me forever. Going into this, I really had no idea what I was doing. I thought I came to be a tool of transformation for the people around me. I had no idea what was in store for me, or how I would be transformed myself.
I would like to say that it's okay to be afraid about what might happen overseas. Relationships change. Family grows. You age, even if it's only a couple years, you feel it. It's okay to feel nervous about leaving what has been your home behind. But don't let the fear stop you. Do it scared.
I wouldn't be able to accurately express the ways I have been stretched and changed. The goodness I have tasted. The faithfulness I have seen. The love I have been drenched in. I have no regrets in coming to this beautiful, broken place with beautiful, broken people and coming to more deeply know a Beautiful and Perfect God. I've seen too much, and I can't turn back now, and my joy is indescribable because of it.
