When God is Never Mentioned
Posted on March 23, 2020
Esther. One of two - and most underrated - books in the Bible that is named after a woman. That alone tells you what type of God we have - if you said an inclusive one, you were right. If you didn't say anything at all and just continued reading, that's okay too. It was day 7 of being in my apartment and doing everything life-related through my superhero-sticker-covered laptop. You could imagine how I'm doing right now - giphy.gif Kidding. However, I can't go to church, so I decided to look for a sermon online - you know, the thing that basically the entire world is doing... Read more
UNO: The Minority Game
Posted on February 9, 2020
Ignorance. Lack of knowledge or information. Cultural Appropriation. The unacknowledged or inappropriate adoption of elements - customs, practices, ideas - of a minority culture by members of a more dominant culture. Frustration. A common emotion that results from the feeling of being upset or annoyed as a result of being unable to change or achieve something. In other words: a result of the above. You know, It isn’t easy. Leaving a place that I have known my entire life to dive into a new culture and learn a new language is bold - for me at least. We think about how they have the ability to share the Gospel with EVERY single person that they walk by on the street. We may even unintentionally put them on a pedestal because they have packed up their things and left their homes to spread the Good... Read more
One Step At A Time

Breathe In. Breathe Out. 2 weeks. 13 days. 312 hours. This is how much time I have left until I catch my flight to Berlin, Germany. How does this make me feel? Anxious. Nervous. Excited. This is the moment that I have been preparing for for over a year now and here I am: saying my last goodbyes and turning them into “see-you-laters”, packing up my room and my suitcases, enjoying the last of the American food that I will have in awhile, stocking up on peanut butter, filling out final paperwork, raising the remaining of my support, and convincing myself I don’t need to bring my entire closet... The Story of Job: Pleading My Case
Posted on March 29, 2019
We have our moments. Moments where we feel like things aren't going right because they aren't going our way or the way we think they should go. When we go through times of suffering and adversity, we feel like we have been abandoned and sometimes hopeless. When we get to this point, we feel like we have the right to plead our case to God. This is where Job was. This is where I am. Now I am not saying that I am currently going through a time of suffering, but how I relate to Job is what you will understand in just a moment. As I am going through the story of Job, I have been stuck on Chapter 9... Read more
