hi friends & family The summer for our team is such a unique time. We are planning for the next year, visiting with many families, sparking unique conversations, and investing in new opportunities that we may not get during the rest of the year! Here are some updates . . . In between the language studying and the preparations for the new program year, we visit a lot of families. Most of these families come to our programs and we continue to invest in them outside of our program year. Many of the visits consist of catch ups and possibly even sharing a meal. Ramadan was this month! Muslims celebrate by practicing daily fasting for a months time to renew their spiritual commitment and purify themselves. It was a beautiful way to learn about this culture and religion. They have huge iftar feasts at night where they all break fast together each night. My language helper invited us to join her one evening. It was a great month to appreciate the unique culture in this country, and to pray for these sweet people to find the truth they are looking for through the truth; name of Jesus! In the past year, I have learned that sitting in questions is a good and freeing thing. And sitting in questions with the Lord is a redeeming thing. There were many hard questions that filled my mind in 2017 about the world, the Lord, myself, and the Church.
