To start from the very begging and give a quick recap I met M during my first week in country almost one year ago. Our team leader had sent us interns out on a neighborhood scavenger hunt to get used to the lay of the land. At the cellphone shop where we were struggling to communicate that we wanted a pre-charge phone card, M came up to us and, in near perfect english, asked if we need any help. A Season of Newness
This past month I was able to travel to London for the wedding of a close childhood friend and I could not have been more blessed. I spent the week before the wedding with him and his family speaking Spanish and English and enjoying not only the ease of communication I had with the people around me but the abundance of greenery and blackberries (ripe and free for the picking). Growth
Reflection has been a key part of this last month and boy was it necessary. I thank you all for keeping me in your prayers as I went through what was hopefully the roughest part of culture shock and new-country adaptation. This past month we had some staff from our company join us to work alongside the three inters and we analyzed our spiritual giftings. I was first off blessed by hosting one of the staff and getting the company of a guy my age that spoke my language (both culturally and linguistically).
