Fabian - Middle East Updates

Class of 2015
Discipleship and Community Organizing Apprentice in Middle East
Track: Compassion - Justice track
Region: Middle East
The professional pilgrim, that's who I am. Traveling is a big part of what defines me both because I have traveled much and because I continue to seek the experience.

I grew up cross-culturally between the United States and Argentina due to my parent's call to work overseas and I haven't been able to stay in one country since. During my college years at Baylor I did my best to learn experientially through the university's study abroad programs. I lived in Belo Horizonte, Brazil for a year; spent a semester in Istanbul, Turkey; and spent one summer in both Rwanda and China.

Today I find myself called to do my father's work. I have traveled and have seen the need. I have met the giver of all good gifts and been asked to give.

I thank God that He made us in such a way that we can contemplate Him and His good gifts. I am thankful that God has provided for me to be here in this country, that He has given me a safe trip, that He’s kept me safe, that He’s blessed me with a mature team that seeks Him, that there is hope for knowing Him more and sharing the knowledge of Him. I’m halfway tempted to simply fill this post with reasons for being thankful and call it a day… Read more >>

My Father's Work

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Middle East

I’m following in my father’s footsteps and I love it. That is a sentence that I never thought I would write and one that doesn’t fail to bring a smile to my face. As I start the journey of serving abroad I am filled with the joy of knowing what I am called to do regardless of terminology. Growing up my father's work was everything, it was my family overseas, it was my parents’ profession, it was ever-present, it was something I didn’t understand and it was something that I never wanted to be. When I was little I would say I wanted to be an archeologist like Indiana Johns, traveling the world… Read more >>
