Celebrating 15 Years and 300 Goers!
The idea of GoCorps began in a conversation at a global mission conference in Hong Kong in May 2009. Here's a timeline of some of what God's done in the last 15 years.
BEyond 2024: what's next?
We are so grateful for 15 years of growth and mobilization. While we have enjoyed looking back at the first 15 years of GoCorps, we don't want to stare! So we turn to look ahead at what is next for GoCorps:
Tithe your career
We are growing our use of the concept of tithing one's time and talent as a way to be invited into a GoCorps placement. For a college senior, a tithe other their time (20 years x 10% = 2 years) and of their talent (aka their degree) is what our two-year placements are all about and it seems to be resonating!
New Frontiers
GoCorps has always been about innovating in the missions world. How can we help young adults see their time, their degree, their purpose, and the world differently? How can we help organizations see the emerging generation differently?
Funding and staffing
As we creatively address the headwinds and challenges that we are encountering to grow our funding partners (that's you!) and recruit fully funded staff. We have been affected by inflation just like everyone else in our country. This means that for staff to simply maintain their salaries and for GoCorps to maintain our annual budget, we are needing to see a 15% growth in monthly donors.
Expanded sending models
We recognize the need and opportunity to provide greater preparation and discipleship pathways during the college years. We're beginning new initiatives to disciple and guide students in their journey including underclassmen discernment cohorts, and a curated 4-year journey of global growth and impact during all four years of undergrad
Mobilizing Gen z
GoCorps VP Katy White wrote a book about the challenges and opportunities of reaching this generation and mobilizing them to strategic involvement in the great commission. It seems that each week we are brainstorming new ideas that we can test. In some ways, this is fun. In other ways, it's not as fun because the reason we are needing to try new things is that across the board nationally, global mission involvement is slumping.

Goer #300
Kyla graduated from Azusa Pacific University in May 2023 with a degree in Education. Through GoCorps, Kyla found a position in the Democratic Republic of Congo where she is using her heart for the special needs community by developing social support networks for children with special needs and their families.
Kyla is a great representative of the other 299 Goers that have served before her. She's an ordinary Christian, saying 'yes' to God's invitation to serve, following in faith, but also mixed with fear, questions and doubts. But she continues to give God her 'yes', and how she lives in Africa!
Thanks for walking with and investing in GoCorps and being on the journey with us in the last decade and a half. We look forward to continuing to partner with you in the work of growing a mid-term mission movement in this generation!
All Majors to All Nations,
The GoCorps Staff Team!
