The Flowers are Blooming
April has been a whirlwind of long days, feeling somewhat normal, different sicknesses, always being tired, and slowly but surely getting adjusted. My days are starting to look more consistent which I enjoy but on top of that I feel so much more busy. I never have a sense of time or what day it is and I constantly feel like I am forgetting everything. I have stopped getting lost all the time and am finally not turned around based on which side of the street I'm on. Wildest Dream
The first two weeks were rough, and I have no idea how I did not expect this. Fresh off of training with so much time to prepare, I left America so excited and ready. To only be hit with extreme jet lag and cultural fatigue. I enjoyed my time in the city, but I was beyond exhausted and highly emotional if we talked about anything less than light conversation. What I Learned at CIT
I think the real question is what did I not learn at the Center for Intercultural Training, it was absolutely amazing and challenging in every way. From spiritual formation and disciplines, to cross-cultural ministry equipping, and second-language acquisition. It was indeed being sprayed with the force of a fire hydrant while running into the fire, not as much trying to drink from it. Dear Birmingham, I won’t say thank you, that is far too cheesy, instead I will say, iron sharpens iron.
