Dear Birmingham,
I won’t say thank you, that is far too cheesy, instead I will say, iron sharpens iron. I am forever indebted to you and the beautiful people I have been blessed to meet during my time here. You taught me what city life is all about and how to parallel park. Thank you for your rich history and teaching me so much about diversity, I could say thank you for so many things but instead I will write about all of my favorite places and memories experienced so far.
My church home that shared the true gospel with me, and so many international students that became close friends and taught me so much about the world that I have yet to see. Opportunities to explore, something my small town did not have. Your skyline views, sunsets, city life, and fun with sweet friends made here are all memories I will never forget. A college that shaped my future and beautiful souls that God ordained from all over the world to meet within you. Friendships that will last through valleys low and the ones that God used to teach me so much through. Community I did not deserve that pushed me to the gospel and out of my comfort zone in many ways. Live music and coffee dates with many people I came to care for so deeply.
I was born and raised here and am leaving for now, the world awaits and I have so much more to learn and adventure to seek! I pray you continue to grow and flourish as I have seen you do over the last 23 years. I love you and can’t wait to see all the ways you have changed when I return. Don’t wait up for me, see you soon!
