When Will I Believe?

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - East

When will I believe what I already know to be true?  You may be wondering "how does that make sense because if you know something is true wouldn't that already mean you 'believe' that it is true?" Well, not exactly or at least that is not how it feels sometimes.  I guess maybe a  better way to say it is "when will my head believe what my heart already knows to be true?"  I know deep down that God loves me. That he has a plan for me and that he created me just the way I am.  I know deep down that God makes us worthy. He has provided for me the tools I need to be an… Read more >>

Poem: I am

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - East

I am me There is no one way to define me I cannot sum myself up in a sentence Or a paragraph I will not put myself in a box So you can minimize who I am I will not adhere to the labels That limit my identity I ignore the stereotypes That assume who I am Before they even know me I live not to be known But to know I live not to be defined by the world But to live for God To see myself Through the eyes of Christ For I am fearfully and wonderfully made Read more >>

Settling In

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - East

So I have made it safetly to where I will be spending the next two years.  I have registered for my language learning classes, moved into my official apartment where I will be staying for hopefully the next two years, have found the nearby markets and shops to buy food and other necessaties. Atter a little under a month of being here I am finally starting to get settled into the new location. Though there is still lots for me to learn. There is just so much that is going on it is hard to process it all and let myself completly be aware of what is going on around me.  Everyday has… Read more >>

An All Powerful God

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - East

I once had a teacher in eighth grade who made the remark: " All I am saying is if God is all powerful, then can He make something more powerful than Himself?"  Obviously, that misses the whole point of what it means to have an all powerful God. Though at that time it wasn's so obvious to me. When I was in eighth grade I didn't  really know how to answer that question without thinking that it would take away from God. I believed that God could do ANYTHING. As I grew up I learned more about God and his nature. While God can create something out of nothing, split the seas, and… Read more >>

When I Get All Steamed Up

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - East

Alright, so I wasn't sure if I was going to share this or not, but I decided I will. I like analogies (most of the time) and like to come up with some interesting (for lack of better word)ones myself. Anyways, as I was lying on my bed during a break in between a support-raising appointment and sending out emails I starting thinking about my next blog post.  I don't remember exactly how I got on the song but all of the sudden I was thinking about the teapot song. You know the one that goes "I'm a little teapot short and stout. Here is my handle. Here is my spout" and so on. (If you don't… Read more >>
