My first month in the Czech Republic has, I must admit, been much more overwhelming than I anticipated. I've never had to begin the school year before. When I was a student teacher last fall, I got to walk in during the third week of school and take over a class that an expert teacher had started. I definitely have a deeper appreciation for teaching and all of the teachers who start the school year so well. 10 things I've done/learned during my first week in Prague: 1. Within the first 24 hours I moved into my apartment and then bought a transportation card, a bank account, and a phone plan. 2. I've eaten trdelnik (the famous ice cream with a "donut" for a cone). 3. I met my English team at school and went through three days of training. 4.
