10 things I've done/learned during my first week in Prague:
1. Within the first 24 hours I moved into my apartment and then bought a transportation card, a bank account, and a phone plan.
2. I've eaten trdelnik (the famous ice cream with a "donut" for a cone).
3. I met my English team at school and went through three days of training.
4. I've begun to learn how to navigate public transportation. The transportation here is a combination of metros (underground), buses, and trams.
5. I've learned how to say good day, thank you, and please in Czech.
6. I had in country orientation with my TeachBeyond team. We had an amazing brunch together where we talked about our vision for the year and team unity.
7. A fellow teacher gave me a tour of the main part of the city. I saw the Astronomical clock, walked across the Charles Bridge, and through Letna park.
8. I took public transportation for about an hour to get to Ikea so that I could buy bedding. (Also, ate Ikea meatballs for the first time!)
9. I have bought groceries and discovered that its only about 50 cents to buy 1 liter of water!
10. I've started to fall in love with this city!
This is just a quick snapshot of what I've been up to. School starts next week and I begin teaching the week after that. I can't wait to see what God does!
