My Letter to Future Goers

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - South East

Dear Future Goers, Here is a letter that sheds a bit of light on my time in Bangkok, Thailand.   Biggest Lessons Learned: Where to begin? While I served in Bangkok for about 2 years, there are many things that I learned. I learned that learning a tonal language is hard. But not impossible. I learned that we sometimes take for granted the little things we grew up with. For example: space to be alone. I never valued the space and freedom to be alone before I moved to another country that is filled with people everywhere you go. I now have learned to value those small things that make a big… Read more >>

May Update!

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - South East

Here is an update of what I have done during the month of May!  English for Life Final Class This past Saturday, May 30th, was the last day teaching English is our community. I have had the honor of teaching these amazing students for almost 2 years. It was a bittersweet celebration. We had our last lesson, test, and ended with a huge party with pizza, KFC, and brownies! And we also took fun pictures with one of our students' selfie stick! For the past year, I have been teaching the advanced class with five students, ages 13, 16, 17 (x2), and 46. On May 23rd, I was able to take… Read more >>

March Madness!

Natalie and I had such a wonderful time celebrating our birthdays with the community this year! In Thailand, it is tradition that the birthday guy/girl  has to pay for food, fun, and everything for their birthday, which is much different then our culture. But Natalie and I felt like this is a good time to shower our neighbors with yummy fun, fellowship, and a fun time to say thank you to our neighbors for everything they have done for us! We had a great time, eating Thai Suki and Thai Barbecue. Then we had a good Bible study time, spending time worshiping the Lord with our neighbors. And… Read more >>

Saying Goodbye

After over 28 years of ministry, this month we said goodbye to our Servant Partners Mission Leader. I am so grateful for the time that I have spent with Kevin, learning so much from his humility, his leadership, and his love for God and Thailand. He has felt called to move back to Minnesota to become a full-time pastor. He will be greatly missed by our team and countless of Thai's who came to know Christ through the amazing and faithful work Kevin has accomplished for the Kingdom of God.  **The above picture was from the last celebration we had with Kevin and his wife… Read more >>

Mother in community past away...Please Pray!

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Asia - South East

Prayer Warriors,    Yesterday, a mother of two kids I know, passed away. It is unknown as to what caused her passing--apparently she just stopped breathing in the middle of the day--but it has been a sad day around the community. This woman herself was very young, from my understanding she was in her early 40s, but her family situation is a bit complicated. She is the youngest of seven kids, in which her brother is in jail for life. Her brother left four young kids behind in which Grandma has to raise--who is already raising other grandchildren. And now, Rosa and Top (the two… Read more >>
