God's Provision in Loneliness

Posted on Monday, July 27, 2026

One of my biggest fears before moving to my new country was that I would be lonely. Because of recent issues with residence permits, my team is now much smaller than it was in the past. Two months before I arrived another team member got her residence permit application rejected, meaning that my team would now consist only of me and a young family. Because of this, I was nervous that I would feel lonely, and that it would be difficult for me to make friends with other people my age.

However, God has been faithful to provide. Initially, I did feel very lonely when I got here. But in those moments I felt God's presence with me in a way that I have not experienced when I was at home in America. And experiencing God's presence with me in a new country where I do not know many people has only strengthened my faith and made me more passionate about seeing people here come into relationship with God.

Secondly, God has been faithful to provide friendships for me. I have gotten to know other believers through my (secular) language school, at church, through mutual connections, and even while using public transportation! I am thankful that God is connecting me with commmunity here, and has answered my prayers for friendship through unexpected ways.

I have also had several of my local friends ask me if I have felt lonely since moving here, and this question is a perfect way for me to share about God's presence in my life! This question allows me to share that I have felt God's presence with me in times of loneliness, and He has also provided for me by connecting me with friends.

I am thankful to serve a God who meets me where I am at, and who provides for my physical needs as well as my emotional needs. He is worth knowing, and He is definitely worth sharing!
