Joy Comes!
We are officially fully-funded, plane tickets have been bought, and Visas are in the works! In just a couple short weeks we go through training on acculturation, language acquisition, and professional development. Then we will be ready to fly to SE Asia!!! I am so excited for what is next, but the reality of leaving hit me hard today. Our top priority these next couple weeks is time with friends and family--and it should be--but in some ways I want to just avoid good-byes altogether. An Amazing Opportunity
Support raising continues to be such a joy. We are 97% funded!! It’s becoming so real, and we are growing in our excitement. This month we had the unique opportunity to speak at a youth group about what we will be doing overseas and share how the Lord led us to this decision. I was in middle school when I was first introduced to 10/40 window. God used this to break my heart for the need in the world; it became the first of many steps towards being a global worker. We are entering week #5 of support raising, and it has been such a joy. Support has been pouring in like a flood--emotionally, spiritually, and financially. When my husband and I first decided to work globally, I hated the idea of support raising. I kept looking for other ways to serve overseas with “real jobs” that made an income, because I thought asking people to partner with us would be humiliating and that our needs wouldn’t be met.
