Connecting

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

Sometimes, I think we can complicate things when it comes to Ministry. We often times think that we need to have an official program and at the church needs to organize everything. But God is glorified in the personal connections that we make with others and that doesn't necessarily have to come from any sort of program or outreach event.  Connecting with Others        This may sound like common sense, but at least to me I never thought of ministry this way. Who most influences us in our lives?  Usually it is people who we spend time with and get to know well.… Read more >>

In Times of Hardship

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

I finally realized why I have constantly been getting turned around as I navigate one particularly busy and important intersection in Granada. That's a full-sized helicopter, by the way. I always told myself that "the helicopter points North." Much to my surprise, on my way home this particularly windy day in the city, I looked up and saw that the helicopter, this iconic landmark that I have been using to navigate my way throughout the week, was actually rotating in the wind! I had been misled time and time again because of my misunderstanding of the nature of this… Read more >>

Settling In

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

I am finally settling in here. I’m catching the bus on the right side of the street and showing up on time more often as I am getting lost less frequently. I have been in Granada, Spain now for about two and a half weeks and am finally past the initial orientation phase. There is still a learning curve for the language, but all things considered, all is going very well! Connecting with New Family and Friends      My church is a really great, tight-knit bunch of people from all over the world. A few missionary families from Mexico, Holland, Guatemala, and… Read more >>

ARRIVAL

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

Travel What a journey it has been to get to Granada. From interviewing to fundraising to applying for my visa to waiting on my visa to packing up and leaving everything I know behind me, it has been over a year since answering the call to come to Spain on mission. I am thankful to God for every moment of it! So much growth has happened in the past year; every trial and every blessing just another piece of how God is making me more like His son.                The total travel time from Denver to Granada was around 30 hours… Read more >>

Hope For Every Day

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

Hope For Every Day      While I am still over five thousand miles away from my assignment in Spain, the Lord continues to display His heart for reaching and encouraging His people. I wanted to share with you all some of the wonderful things the Lord has been doing on the Arapahoe/Shoshone reservation in Wyoming. To many of you, this might sound somewhat random, but this Thanksgiving week was my 4th consecutive annual visit to the children of the Arapahoe Elementary School on the Wind River Reservation. Our team from Colorado Christian University (CCU) has been making the drive… Read more >>
