My Letter to Future Goers

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

Two years ago my husband and I, got on a plane to Germany, with so much baggage, so many expectations, and a lot more to learn about ourselves, each other, and God. Now two years later we look back rejoicing for the experiences, friends, and opertunities we were given, but also thankful for the hard times because of the way the Lord used them to grow us and challenge us. When I look back and think of what I wish someone had sat me down and told me to do before I started this journey, there are three things that come to mind (true back then I might not have listened, but I pray that… Read more >>

You Make me Brave

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

I have been working in the realm of anti-human traffiking for well over a year now. It is not anything like what I would have thought it would look like or be like. Media and movies play up this image and idea of these extreme and rare cases as the norm. More often then not what is trapping these women is the lies about thier worth and thier purpose on this earth. It is not a simple solution to just "get them out". Usually they are supporting thier kids, thier parents, and probably other family members as well. Just the other week we talked to a women who is working on the street because of… Read more >>

The Worth of Humans

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. James 3:9-10 How often do we make assumptions about people around us? How often do I glance down when a homeless person gets on the public transit with me? How often do I respond with judgement and fear over love and understanding? Every week I talk with, laugh with, and pray for women who the world often sees as lesser or unworthy because of the situation they have found themselves in… Read more >>

Herr, offen du mir die Augen

One of the most beautiful things in this world is musical worship. The fact that it does not matter a persons level of skill or the language they are expressing themself in, but the state of thier heart, is so beautiful.  My first time worshipping in another country was freshmen year of college in Russia. It was then that it really sunk in that God is Lord over the entire world, that He understands and hears all languages because He created them. Christianity is not just a religion for those who speak English it is a religion for every tribe, tongue, and nation. Since that time I have… Read more >>

That Food Though

By on Track: Compassion - Justice Region: Europe

I have a problem. My problem is that I have always been a picky eater. This means that every time I enter a new country I assume that I am not going to like the food. This in turn leads me to believe that I am going to lose weight in that country. This unfortunately is a lie. Of all the countries I have visited I have only found one whose national foods I truly did not like. I will not say what country it is because I would not want to hurt its feelings, but I can say that unfortunately it is one of my ancestral homes.   The only time I have actually lost any weight in another… Read more >>
