Dreams for friends here in the neighborhood are one of the things I was looking forward to when I was preparing to set out over the summer. They are also one of the ways in which we, as a team, have been asking God to make himself known, and they are the best Christmas present to date.
I was hanging out with a good friend, call him M, around the middle of the month, chatting while I prepared dinner and I decided to ask him if he had any cool dreams lately. He'd been sleeping well, which in itself was an answer to prayer, but he also mentioned that he had a very interesting dream. He went on to tell me that in his dream he was walking down the street when he's approached by a man who claimed to know him. M said that he didn't recognize the man and informed this stranger that he didn't know him. The stranger replied that M did in fact know him because he, the stranger, was Jesus and not only was He God but He was M's friend. M told me that after Jesus said that he disappeared and M woke up. M didn't know what to say, he said he had never met someone like that, someone with such confidence and a smile that seemed to say that He knew what M was going to say before he said it.
I was happy? ecstatic? overjoyed? Something along those lines. I reassured M that he wasn't crazy and that I indeed thought Jesus had visited him in a dream. Since then I haven't had a chance to really hang out with M. He's been feeling sick and I ask that you be praying for healing and for opportunities to talk more about who Jesus is.
