Two years can seem like a long time overseas, but that's why it is important to keep God and His word always on your heart. That doesn't mean the homesickness will go away or the culture will seem less crazy but God's protection and His love can make a great difference while overseas. Adventure Waiting
Before moving to the Philippines, many of you heard me say: “I have lived in the same house my whole life and have been blessed with a great church community.” Now I can say I lived in Manila for 21 months and it was amazing! Are you a winger or a planner?
I struggled as I processed what I wanted to write this time. This Blog may be a little longer than usual but God has been teaching me a lot that I want to share. The theme for camp this year was “Multiply”…not sure if preparing for camp. God’s Spirit, or both has laid this on my heart but this idea has been on my mind tons lately. Ocular
Camp is one of the biggest youth events for Disciples of Christ United at Union Church of Manila. We expect 50-60 students to come to camp. As part of preparing for camp the leadership team went on an “ocular” a couple weeks ago. The purpose of an “ocular” is to test out or see how something might work for a future event.
