Bitter Sweet

By on Track: Teaching Region: Asia - Central

It seems like we spent every day of this past month with our small group and those who have been a special part of our lives here. As we reflect on the times we had with them, it has been different than before. Our first year overseas, we began to fill up our schedules with so many meetings, plans, and events that we quickly got burnt out. It was as if we kicked on "work mode" and tried to do everything we learned to do that is considered "min!stry." We had good intentions and we were seeking the L0rd in what we did, but I guess there truly is a difference in walking with G0d and… Read more >>

Celebrations

As we reflect on the month of March, we are able to see the beauty in pouring out His love on those around us as an overflow of our hearts and not out of our own efforts. He led us to many special times this month and we would like to share the highlights with you. Women's Day GatheringMarch 8th is International Women's Day and a very much celebrated holiday here. We can't believe February is gone! Although it was a short month, we feel like we were very productive and have continued to learn more about Him and His heart for us. Small Group Most of our small group is graduating this summer and we have been talking a lot about the future. Not knowing what is next can be intimidating but we have been encouraging them to pursue their dreams and not settle for less. We have noticed that the Soviet mindset still echoes in this generation. Our small group and other students have the desire to explore and try new things, but are hindered by the past thought… Read more >>

True meaning of Christmas

Christmas Eve at our Language Center Christmas was completely different for us this year. We taught until Christmas Eve and were able to have a very fun Christmas party with our students. We gave them stockings, played some games, ate fresh baked cookies and shared the birth of our King which is the true reason we celebrate. Christmas Day It has been difficult to share this kind of news, but we want you to rejoice with us knowing that G0d's timing is perfect. On Christmas morning we found out that our precious baby is now in heav3n with our heavenly Father. We had a rough couple of days… Read more >>

Thankful Heart

By on Track: Teaching Region: Asia - Central

This thanksgiving there is so much to be thankful. My husband and I were able to have a thanksgiving meal with our small group this past saturday and it was probably the greatest time we had with them. Sharing a delicious local feast, lots of laughter, games and hearts filled with thanksgiving. We had a time of sharing what we are thankful for and it was sweet to see how much they appreciate our friday meetings, and our home always being open to them. We thanked our Father for each and everyone of them, for bringing them into our lives and blessings us with this group. As we now prepare for… Read more >>
