True meaning of Christmas

Posted on Sunday, January 4, 2015

Christmas Eve at our Language Center

Christmas was completely different for us this year. We taught until Christmas Eve and were able to have a very fun Christmas party with our students. We gave them stockings, played some games, ate fresh baked cookies and shared the birth of our King which is the true reason we celebrate.

Christmas Day

It has been difficult to share this kind of news, but we want you to rejoice with us knowing that G0d's timing is perfect. On Christmas morning we found out that our precious baby is now in heav3n with our heavenly Father. We had a rough couple of days trying to deal with everything that a miscarriage can bring and even though it was very difficult, we felt our Papa closer than ever before. As He is healing our hearts from our loss, we truly see His hand in our lives and see how much He loves us. Losing our precious baby reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas. We live in a broken world where things won't be perfect and sometimes are better off unexplained; but pr@ise G0d for the incredible gift that J3sus is and the costly freedom He gave us to have direct access to the Father and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. He truly has been our Comforter during this time and as always He has been so good to us.

Christmas with our Small Group

We had a great time celebrating Christmas with our small group 2 days after Christmas day. Since the majority of them are culturally Musl1ms, it was a bl3ssing to share the story of J3sus' birth and the Hope that He brings to our lives.

We celebrated their very first Christmas by exchanging gifts, eating some homemade

enchiladas, and playing Uno to see who would wash the dishes :) Pr@ise G0d for continuing to allow us to have such a pleasant and encouraging time with them.

2014 was a crazy, exciting, and remarkable year for our lives. So much happened, good and bad, but we are happy to look back and say that our G0d is good, all the time. We know that many things happened, not just in our lives but in yours as well. We rejoice in welcoming 2015 and ask Him to continue to pour out His love and bl3ssings over you and your family. We will pr@y for many things but above all, we pr@y that you would be closer to Him, and would be in the center of His will. We believe this year is the year to chase the dreams G0d has given you.

May we live our lives in 2015 truly believing and being a walking testimony of the Hope that the birth of J3sus brought to this world.

Much love, from Central Asia
