Time Marches On

I once heard a quote that said “Change is the only constant in life.” Whether that is true or not, there has been quite a bit for me recently. I have officially stepped out of part-time language study into full-time ministry. I co-lead the children’s time during our women’s program, which means I somehow am finding myself singing songs, jumping up and down, and acting in skits. I am now teaching English weekly and finding it a little more challenging than expected. Two of my roommates are gone, which is the biggest day-to-day change. People have told me that life speeds up after college, and it seems overseas that is true as well. These past few weeks I’ve had many new thoughts, challenges, realizations, and experiences. Many of these have had to do with language, as that is my full time job for the time being. I am in class a few days a week and supplement that with self-study and language practice with Turkish people. Studying and learning a new language has really made me examine my own. From Texas to Turkey

After over a year of praying, thinking and seeking direction, and then another 4 months of partnership development, I am finally in Istanbul! It seems like I have been talking and thinking about this city forever, and now that I am here it almost doesn’t feel real. The pre-going part of my journey was a walk of faith in and of itself and makes me even more excited for what lies ahead. God’s provision for me during the summer of partnership development and CPA exam studying was extraordinary, and I have full confidence in where He has me for this season of my life.
