GoCorps On Campus!

See you next time!

GoCorps Goer Maggi Inglesby was on campus on February 6-7 to meet with students interested in connecting their degrees to live overseas through a global placement after graduation.  Maggi was a George Fox University 2021 nursing major who discovered a Public Health two-year placement with a small non-profit in Bulgaria through the GoCorps network.  She had a great time sharing in classes and meeting 1:1 with interested students.  Did you miss seeing her?  See below for opportunities to connect with a GoCorps Coach to get your specific questions answered!

Which type of goer are you?

There are two types of people who are a good fit to consider GoCorps as their first step after graduation:

Goer Type #1
Students who feeling a ‘calling’ to missions...

If you have felt a calling into missions and want to explore that calling, doing a two year placement with GoCorps is a perfect first step. We’ll help you find a mission org and a placement that fits your skill-sets with high value on mentoring!

Goer Type #2
Students who feel called to the marketplace, but...

GoCorps is also for those see themselves living and working long-term in the US, but want to do something different in their next step.  Do you have a desire to travel, to serve and stretch yourself?  A two-year GoCorps placement is waiting!

In short, you don’t have to feel a calling to missions to do GoCorps!  The final application deadline for 2024 is on June 1 and the application and interview process is a great discernment process.

GoCorps and George Fox University

Since 2009, GoCorps has been placing 20-somethings globally for two years of impactful gospel service. Many of these young people didn’t previously see themselves as part of the missionary landscape—until GoCorps helped them put their degrees and passions to strategic use. Now recent graduates are rising to the opportunity of investing two years of their career in ways that change their own lives and the lives of those not yet reached with the gospel.

What George FoX Alumni have to say about GoCorps

I say... DO IT! Living overseas is an extremely stretching yet rewarding experience. You learn to function in a place and with people that are different than you and that in itself is a huge skill to know how to do that well. It's a long time away from family but challenges you in intentionality with those that you hold dear. The space will not break your closest relationships but maybe it will make them even stronger! it did for me :) GoCorps did a great job in setting me up well to support raise and come out the other end encouraged. GoWeek was also so encouraging to be around and hear the stories of others that may so nearly reflect your own. This experience taught me more about grace and humility. It exposed my pride and then forced me into Jesus's arms in my uncomfortability time and time again. And what's wonderful is that God used it all, all my shortcomings, my struggles, and floppy attempts as well as the times where my skills were being used and displayed. It is all used, none of it wasted, for His Glory! Whoof, that's a load off for sure.
