The Social Entrepreneur plays a pivotal role in supporting the implementation and growth of the social economy initiatives that combine business with social and environmental impact. This position involves a blend of administrative tasks, project coordination, and communication, contributing to sustainability.
In this role, you will provide critical administrative support to social business initiatives by preparing and maintaining documentation, such as contracts, agreements, and reports, while keeping organized records of meetings, project updates, and key contacts. You’ll assist the Supervisor in planning and coordinating all stages of social business projects, from ideation to execution, ensuring seamless progress. This includes tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to meet deadlines, as well as contributing to impact assessments and progress reports. Additionally, you’ll gather, organize, and analyze data to evaluate the social and environmental impact of these initiatives, ensuring their alignment with our mission.
On the communications and financial fronts, you’ll create and manage content for social business channels, including social media, websites, and newsletters, while liaising with internal and external stakeholders like partners, suppliers, customers, and community members to build and maintain strong relationships. You’ll address inquiries, gather feedback, and conduct research to identify market trends, potential partners, and growth opportunities in the social business sector. Planning and coordinating events, workshops, and seminars to engage participants will also be part of your role. Financially, you’ll help monitor budgets, expenses, and the financial performance of projects, promptly reporting any discrepancies to the Supervisor to ensure fiscal responsibility.
Qualifications:
Passion for social and environmental impact and commitment to conscious business practices.
Experience in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Sustainable Development, or a related field; and/or, previous experience in administrative support, project coordination, or social business.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Analytical mindset and ability to gather, interpret, and present data.
Knowledge of sustainable business practices and social entrepreneurship concepts.
