The Czech Republic (Czechia) is one of the most atheistic countries in the world, despite a rich Christian heritage. It’s a beautiful and diverse country in the heart of Europe, with a vibrant culture. The easiest way to describe Czechs, is as “hobbits”. They love food, beer, nature, and their privacy. There is, however, openness to foreigners and to Jesus, especially among the young people of the country, which is where our focus lies.
Our vision, is to see a disciple-making movement blaze through the Czech Republic, and into Europe, originating from the youth. We work primarily with the ages 10 - 25, (though positions are also open working with kids as young as 6) and use teaching English and topical activities (in English) as a way of meeting young people, and building relationships so that we introduce them to Jesus using tools like Discovery Bible Studies, and Simple Church. Some examples of activities we’ve used in the past are: Theater, Dungeons and Dragons, Board Games, Film/Video, Storytelling, Sports, and Dance.
An applicant for this position would work in two capacities: 1. Applicants would work half-time (10 hours of classroom teaching) at a local school, teaching English,(elementary, middle, or high school) usually through conversation and activities. This provides a visa, and part of the funding for the position, it also allows a major cultural in to meet students, and gain respect within the culture. No experience is required here. We can train you. 2. Applicants will work with our small-business, and non-profit organization to provide camps, fun topical classes, clubs, (depending on your specific callings/talents) and Discovery groups so that students have a relational and natural bridge to be introduced to Jesus. We are highly adjustable, and want to work with you to create your job description.

-Enjoyment working with teens and young adults and/or kids.
-Willingness/ability to teach (mostly conversation classes based on games and activities) and be trained to do so.
-Leadership of small groups (English classes, and Discovery groups)
-Competence in at least one interesting (for teens) discipline: (eg. dance, theater, film, creative writing, fine arts, sports activities, Dungeons and Dragons, etc )
-Willingness to be independent, but also to work on a team. We have positions available in our city, and in several surrounding cities. (None would be more than an hour from us) We’ll be working as a team, even when spread out, and supporting each other.
-Both Flexibility and Consistency – things change here quickly, but also can move very slowly. We need someone ready to be faithful while they wait, and who is willing to change course when needed.
