When I first arrived in Spain, I thought I knew exactly why I came. I had my tools, my plans, and a clear vision for how I would serve. I thought I was here to capture stories through a lens. But this past month, the Lord began to change my perspective. He didn't change my location. He changed my eyes.
He began to show me that a calling isn't confined to a specific skill set. It's an invitation to love and to serve right where you're standing in whatever way is needed. I've realized that availability matters just as much as capability. And as I lifted my eyes from the screen, I started to see the spaces He was asking me to step into.
He showed me that calling can look like a conversation, using relationships not just to network, but to truly encourage and see people. He showed me that in seasons of restructuring, offering a steady perspective can be a way to bless and anchor the team around me. And sometimes serving looks incredibly simple. It looks like picking up a paintbrush, patching a wall, and becoming a welcoming hand for a visiting team. Other times, it's using what I do know to build a clearer path forward for those who will come after me, helping organize a manual to make their steps easier.
Yes, I'm still doing video stuff. But I'm learning that the work is so much bigger than the medium. My calling isn't just to the camera, it's to this place, to these people, and to whatever task is placed in front of me today. I'm right where I'm supposed to be, and I praise the Lord that He is right here with me.
