I’ve been looking back at the pages of this past month and If I’m being honest, the journey has taken me through some high-intensity terrain—a real season of spiritual warfare that felt just as heavy in the ministry as it did in my own heart. But as I write this, I’m realizing that the hardest parts of the journey are often where the most important stories are written. I want to be honest about the weight of it, but also give glory to the Lord. Looking back, I can see how He’s been navigating for me every step of the way.
One moment this was clear was over Easter weekend. A friend from college came to visit, and that familiar connection was exactly what I needed. While exploring a traveling boat ministry, we met someone else serving who stopped to pray for us. Having a complete stranger intercede was so refreshing—a special reminder that the Lord sees me. It turned a simple visit into a deep experience of His presence.
Not long after, I returned to serve at the Camino de Santiago. It was a significant 'practice run' for what I believe the Lord is calling me into: freelance videography. There was also a deeper grace there; the volunteer team was from Puerto Rico. It’s funny how heritage works—the parts of your family that feel 'foreign' in the U.S. feel like home when you're abroad. Being surrounded by those believers was so life-giving; another reminder of His care for every detail.
I also have to be honest about the harder parts. For reasons I can’t fully share, we’ve had to stop all work on this year’s project. It’s been a difficult season of readjusting for my team. I’d love your prayers for our leadership as they navigate this. But even in the stillness, I’ve seen the Lord’s character. My team has handled this by seeking His face and staying in prayer. It has forced us to rely on His timing rather than our own plans.
But when the Lord closes one door, He doesn’t leave you in the dark. I’ve been working more with the Spanish side of the ministry, and this past weekend, I joined them for a conference on cyberbullying. It was a gift to experience the local church’s hospitality and use my camera for such vital work. It wasn't just a provision of work; it was a reminder that even when one path stops, the Lord is always moving somewhere else.
The challenges of this month didn't have the final say. The Lord used every stop and start to show me He is still navigating—and that gives me so much peace. I’m stepping into this next month with trust and excitement for what He’s going to do. I don't have all the answers, but I’m eager to see how He moves. Thank you for sharing this journey with me.
I’m so grateful for you all. With love, Josiah
