If you know me, you know I like to celebrate. Celebrate the little wins like perfectly cooked steak or the big wins like getting approved for a visa. I do not discriminate—all wins are welcome.
At it’s core, a theology of celebration views rejoicing as an integral part of the faith, rooted in God’s nature and work. Scripture shows God as the source of joy, with celebrations like Old Testament feasts and Jesus’ miracles affirming that rejoicing glorifies Him. Celebration flows from gratitude, worship, and a recognition of God’s goodness and it’s often communal, fostering a space for shared praise. It also serves as a witness, reflecting the hope and abundant life we get to find in Christ, and points to the ultimate celebration with Him for eternity. Through feasting, music, testimony, and rest, celebration honors God and anticipates a eternal joy.
