A Day on a Medical Missions Ship
My day on board the YWAM medical ship starts with morning devotions with the crew. I enjoy leading songs on my guitar or ukulele and sometimes get the opportunity to teach from scripture. This time of worship sets a positive tone as we prepare for the day ahead. Afterward, I jump into the logistical side of ship life, scheduling specialized technicians for essential maintenance and sourcing marine parts through emails and phone calls. One plants, Another waters, and God makes it grow
My team spent two days doing ministry in a village called Dylup. Our time there was filled with providing medical care, playing games like volleyball and tag with the villagers, and sharing Bible teachings. Our time was filled with meaningful connections and opportunities to pray for the people. However, our time there was so short. Leaving me wondering what impact this short ministry could really have? First Impressions of Village Life
As our banana boat pulled up to the shore, the family we would be spending the next 24 hours with smiled and waved cheerfully at us. This was my first time going into a Papua New Guinean village and spending the night. I didn't know at all what to expect. Though the family barily new us, they welcomed us in with open arms.
