If there’s an award somewhere for “most roaches in bathroom at one time,” I’m sure that I would win. After living in my new apartment in Bangkok, Thailand for just a week, I opened my bathroom door after a long day and immediately shut it after the largest roach I’d ever seen scuttled across my bath mat like it owned the place. The Statue that Needed Water

During my second week of language school in Bangkok, Thailand, a small Buddha statue sat decorated in the lobby of my school. For Songkran, the Thai New Year that is celebrated from April 13th to 15th, people pour water over a Buddha statue's head as a gesture of honor to cool the Buddha off from the brutal Bangkok heat.
