Just a few days ago, I reached my goal of losing 100 pounds. It took 11 months for me to be consistent with my eating habits, exercising, and drinking plenty of water. Some people believe that they can lose weight in a week or two, but that is not the reality of it. Losing weight is a task that takes patience, effort, and encouragement. I remember the first day that I started this journey, I wanted to absolutely quit. My roommates were eating the foods that I was craving and all I ate were vegetables. At that point, I thought I was going to die or starve. Thankfully, God helped me develop a plan to think of ways that I can enjoy these foods. So, I created a meal plan every single week of the vegetables I enjoyed the most. I found joy putting different foods on a plate to see what it would taste like together. I had some wacky combinations to get a good taste because I did not use salt, butter, or sugar. I got a personal trainer for a good price and she showed me a lot of exercises that helped build my strength.
I realized no matter how many calories you burn or how much you sweat, you will see progress when you keep going.
Looking back at those 11 months, I am glad I did not stop. God was being so faithful to me and He still is. To see how He changed my eating habits to make me lose 30 pounds in one month and then 100 pounds. There were a lot of high and low times, but I realize that the Lord was preparing me for something I needed to be physically in shape for. Also, God showed me a healthy relationship with food because that was something, I struggled with. I want to say now, trust the process and keep going. God is painting a beautiful picture and every detail count. Trust Him, you will see the BIG picture.
